Participants will learn how to support Early Brain Development, Early Literacy, and Classroom Management while incorporating the vocabulary of American Sign Language (ASL) into their daily routines and literacy activities.

 

Attendees will be engaged through multi-sensory hands on learning approach. They will learn a variety of strategies, such as using sign, music, and play to support all learning styles. Participants will leave with a better understanding of child development and ways to support the development of all children. Participants will also learn how to use multiple strategies to support young children with special needs.  

 

The Summer Institute is based on a combination of theoretical and practical ideologies and participants will learn up to 75+ signs from American Sign Language that they can use the next day in their classroom.

 

Each participant will receive the following resources to support their use of ASL in the classroom:

  • 1 CEU
  • Dr. Joseph Garcia’s Book, SIGN with your BABY
  • Sign2Me Pick Me Up CD and Activity book with 20 original songs with signs 
  • Sprouting New Beginning ASL Classroom Labels and ABC Charts CD
