Weather Signs

In many classrooms, you find excited young children learning about the weather and seasons such as winter.   A great weather song to add to your circle time routine is,
What's the Weather?

(Sung to Oh my Darlin Clementine)

What's the weather?
What's the weather like today?
Please tell us child's name what's the weather like today?
Is it cloudy, is it sunny, is it rainy out today?
Please tell us child's name what's the weather like today?

Remember you can make the song more engaging by adding sign language to highlight the weather words.

Get all children involved by selecting a new child each day to be the weather person and report to the class on the weather outside.  You can also extend this activity into math by graphing each day what the weather is like.  At the end of the week or month, make observations on the data you collected.
